From the beginning of time, everything in the spirit realm has been governed by altars and covenants. Altars are places of exchange, where heaven meets earth, where sacrifices speak, where destinies are either birthed or bound.
Covenants, whether holy or demonic, are forged at these spiritual meeting points. And whether we realize it or not, every life is influenced by the altar we are aligned with. Even witches in all their evil understand this….
This is why prayer is not optional. Your prayer life is your lifeline. It is the access point into the presence of Yahweh. It is where you tend the fire of your covenant with God, ensuring that His will continually burns over your life.
The Altar Must Never Go Out
In Leviticus 6:12–13, God gives the priests a clear instruction:
“And the fire on the altar shall be kept burning on it; it shall not be put out… A fire shall always be burning on the altar; it shall never go out.” (Leviticus 6:12–13)
This scripture is more than an Old Testament principle. It is a prophetic picture of your spiritual life.
You are now the priest.
Your heart is the altar.
Your prayer life is the fire.
The moment the fire goes out, something else will try to take its place. There is no such thing as a neutral altar. If you are not intentionally maintaining a holy altar, the enemy is more than willing to establish a counterfeit one.
This is why seasons of distance from God feel like confusion, warfare, stagnation, or heaviness, because unattended altars attract demonic activity.
Prayer keeps your altar alive.
Prayer keeps your spirit aligned.
Prayer keeps your covenant with God active and burning.
Prayer Is Your Spiritual Oxygen
When you pray, you are not simply reciting words, you are legislating in the spirit. Prayer is how you:
- Push back darkness
- Establish divine order
- Break ungodly covenants
- Strengthen your God-given assignments
- Hear divine instructions
- Protect your bloodline
- Secure your destiny
Prayer is where your identity is revealed, your strength is renewed, and your discernment is sharpened.
This is why the enemy doesn’t fear Christians who attend church.
He fears Christians who maintain their altars of prayer.
Intercessors, watchmen, prophetic voices, the enemy knows if he can silence your altar, he can silence your assignment. Years ago, when I found myself in a backslidden state. I decided to attend a women’s conference, at the conference, a lady asked to pray for me.
She began to weep and release a prophetic word to me, telling me “that Jesus missed me…” I wept like a baby. I had no idea that my previous dedication to 5 am prayer on the altar meant anything to the Master. I was a broken girl who was introduced to Christ again at the age of 19 years old but church became a routine.
I knew there was power, as I had been ignited by the Holy Ghost but those demonic covenants in my bloodline seduced me back into the world. I thank God that season didn’t cause me to lose my life without another chance to come back fully to serve the Lord.
Your Altar Determines Your Outcomes
Every breakthrough you walk into, and every battle you overcome, begins at the altar. Before anything manifests in the natural, it is settled in the spirit.
If your altar is cold, your life will reflect it.
If your altar is burning, your life will show it.
- Marriages are restored at the altar.
- Businesses are birthed at the altar.
- Prophetic strategies are released at the altar.
- Generational curses are broken at the altar.
- Healing flows at the altar.
- Wisdom descends at the altar.
Nothing powerful in your life happens apart from prayer.
Keep Your Fire Burning
Just like the priests in Leviticus added wood every morning, you must continually feed the fire of your relationship with God. Get up and commune with the Father.
🔥 Worship
🔥 Prayer
🔥 The Word
🔥 Obedience
🔥 Consecration
🔥 Surrender
These are the “wood” symbols that keep your altar alive.
“Seek the LORD while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near.” (Isaiah 55:6)
When your altar is burning:
- Your spirit becomes sensitive to God
- Your decisions become led by wisdom
- Your life produces fruit
- Your atmosphere shifts
- Your family experiences peace
- Your purpose becomes clear
You cannot lose a battle when your altar is alive; everything is maintained on the altar of the Lord.
A Prayer for You
Father, in the name of your so Jesus, reignite the altars of every man or woman reading this. Let every cold place catch fire again. Let every ungodly covenant be consumed by Your holy flame. Teach us to tend our altars with diligence, discipline, and devotion. And may Your presence become our daily dwelling place. In the Might Name of Jesus, Amen.
Always with Love,
