Since the age of 20, one of the first things God revealed to me, through a prophetic minister, was that I was an intercessor<\/strong>. Early on, I enjoyed 5 am prayer at church. I would sacrifice to get to the altar after working overnight. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I also began to research what an intercessor truly is and what they do. I found it to be one of the most intriguing yet overlooked gifts<\/em><\/strong> in the Body of Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes, we may look at prayer as simply \u201ctalking to God,\u201d or we may feel as though we are laboring without seeing results. But my friend, I want to encourage you, there is power in the secret place<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

Are You Called to Stand in the Gap?<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30<\/strong> that God looks for a watchman, which is someone to stand in the gap and make up the hedge, for souls, for cities, and for nations.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prayer and intercession are not small tasks; they are spiritual assignments<\/strong> that move heaven and earth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you pray, understand that you are partnering with the Holy Spirit. Look at the life of Jesus, much of His ministry was built on prayer. Scripture often tells us that He withdrew to the mountains to pray.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus said, \u201cMen ought always to pray, and not to faint\u201d<\/em> (Luke 18:1<\/strong>) and the great Apostle Paul instructed us to “Pray without ceasing\u201d<\/em> (1 Thessalonians 5:17<\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prayer is not optional, it\u2019s our spiritual lifeline.<\/p>\n\n\n

The Example of Daniel<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m reminded of the prophet Daniel. Many people view the Daniel Fast<\/strong> as a personal act of devotion to receive an answer to prayer, but in reality, Daniel\u2019s fast was an act of intercession for his nation<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Daniel stood in the gap to break chains, dismantle bondage, and change the systems and rulers operating in that time. His intercession shifted nations. That\u2019s the kind of power found in the secret place.<\/p>\n\n\n

The Labor of Prayer<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Every time you rise early or stay up late to pray, crying out for your family, your city, your nation, or a soul, God is using you<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bible says in Isaiah 55:11<\/strong> that God\u2019s Word cannot return void.<\/em> When you pray the Word of God, you are releasing divine power that cannot fail, because \u201cGod is not a man, that He should lie\u201d<\/em> (Numbers 23:19<\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prayer is a labor of love<\/strong>. It requires dedication, focus, and faith.
I remember in my younger days, every church I attended had hundreds of people on Sunday mornings, but when it was time for prayer, only a faithful few<\/strong> would show up. Prayer takes work. But those who commit to it become history-makers in the spirit realm and receive an eternal reward for prayer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n

\u201c <\/sup>And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.\u201d<\/strong>
\u2014 Revelation 5:<\/em>8<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n

Signs You’re Called as an Intercessor<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

If you feel drawn to intercession, here are some signs that God may be calling you to stand in the gap:<\/p>\n\n\n

    \n
  1. You hear names<\/strong> or see faces while praying.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. You feel a burden or heaviness<\/strong> that leads you to pray for others.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. God wakes you up in the night<\/strong>, often between 12 AM and 4 AM<\/strong>, to intercede.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. You value solitude <\/strong>not as an escape, but you know when it’s time to pull away from the crowd<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    These are not coincidences; they are divine invitations.
    Jesus often prayed during the fourth watch of the night (3\u20136 AM)<\/strong>. Don\u2019t take your call lightly. Your prayers are shifting atmospheres and changing destinies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Let’s touch on the Proper way to approach prayer<\/em><\/strong> especially in the 4th watch of the night (3am-6am):<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Thanksgiving – Praise God first and thank Him for who He is and what He has already done
    2. Put on the full armor of God (Eph. 6), repent for any sins, then engage in spiritual warfare against patterns and demonic spirits that have hindered your life. Wage war for your life, business, and destiny
    3. Petition God for what you need Him to do on your behalf. Do not doubt, but believe in your heart that God is faithful to perform His word<\/p>\n\n\n

    A Vision of the Bridge<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
    \n

    \u201cLet my prayer be counted as incense before you,
    and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice!\u201d<\/strong>
    \u2014 Psalm 141:2<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

    Recently, God gave me a vision that revealed what happens when we stand in the gap. I saw a bridge<\/strong>, and as we prayed, souls were crossing over it<\/strong>.<\/em> On the other side stood Jesus, with His hands outstretched, welcoming them into the Kingdom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    That\u2019s what happens when you intercede: Jesus is drawing souls, renewing minds, and transforming hearts to turn to Yeshua. The blood of Jesus is at work, fighting and working with us as we pray<\/em><\/strong>. Humanity is God’s heartbeat; it is not His will that any should perish.<\/p>\n\n\n

    Your Secret Weapon: Abiding in the Secret Place<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    The Bible declares:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n

    \u201cHe who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.\u201d<\/strong>
    \u2014 Psalm 91:1<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

    There is a supernatural abiding<\/strong> that happens when we stay consistent in prayer. When we dwell in His presence, we live under His protection, guidance, and power. God is a good father who desires His best for our lives. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The secret place is also where God reveals His vision, plans, and instructions for your life. As you dwell, God begins to unlock the answers you’ve been looking for. You should NEVER be without an answer from God, because His word is His will for our lives. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n

    \u201cIf you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.\u201d<\/strong>
    \u2014 John 15:7<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

    Anything you pursue should line up with the word and will of God. God never instructs us to do anything that is in direct violation of His written word. This is how we judge our own motives, to see if we are in alignment. If you’re ever unsure, sit in the presence of God, abide in the word of God, and wait until God gives you the confirmation of the thing you are seeking. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Another scripture that reminds me of the intercessor lifestyle is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n

    \u201cEvening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and He shall hear my voice.\u201d<\/strong>
    \u2014 Psalm 55:17<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n

    If you’re still experiencing delays, setbacks, and blocks, then you may need to go on a fast.<\/em><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n
    \n

    \u201cAnd he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.\u201d<\/strong>

      Stay faithful to your call as an intercessor.
      Your prayers matter.
      Your labor in the secret place is not in vain.
      God is changing systems, healing families, and releasing breakthrough because of your obedience to stand in the gap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Keep pressing in, the secret place is where power, purpose, and partnership with God are born. \ud83c\udf3f<\/p>\n\n\n\n
